If you're in the United States, your books are ready to ship. You'll get a charge in the next few days for shipping.

The charges are more - but only slightly more - than I wanted them to be. That's because we got hit with a customs charge and mailing rates have increased. 

For most of you, the charge will be £11.50 ($15.50). That compares to my initial estimate of £9 (just over $12, although I also mentioned that shipping to the States was unpredictable). If you've ordered two books, you'll find the charge is £15 ($20), and for three, the charge is £18 ($24).

I hope that works for everyone! I've worked hard to keep them as low as I could and it's cheaper than shipping to the EU and the rest of the world.

If you're outside the States, you should have your books by now or at least we'll have spoken about it. Get in touch if you need to.

There's one thing remaining to deliver, I think, which is the Beyond Reach set of unreached stretch goals. I'm editing that now.

Meanwhile, I'd love you to back the Kickstarter for Play Unsafe, my book about how to play TTRPGs.

Stretch goals and Play Unsafe

You'll now find the Cosmic Dark stretch goals in BackerKit!

There are short scenarios from Kieron Gillen, Thomas M, Bridgett Jeffries, Gar Hanrahan, Alyssa Griffiths, Julian Simpson, Jon Ingold, Grant Howitt and Ella Watts. That's everyone except for Jeeyon Shim, who didn't manage to write her scenario: I'll replace that with one by the amazing Helen Gould, which you'll get shortly.

I asked them all for a two-page scenario, but, as you'll see, some of them went much longer than that. In all, you've got 45 pages worth of content.

That leaves just a few digital things left to deliver: my scenario Invasive and the add-on Beyond Reach, which consists of the unreached stretch goals. They're on their way.

If you're waiting for physical books, this is the latest state of things. If you're outside the US, you've either got your books or they're being posted. If you're in the US, your books have just cleared customs, so they should be on their way to the distributor shortly.

Meanwhile, I'm thinking ahead to the next thing. 

When this Kickstarter is complete, I'll do a short, sharp Kickstarter for a twentieth anniversary edition of Play Unsafe, my book about storytelling, improvisation and roleplay. (If you ordered Play Unsafe through this Kickstarter, I'll give you a discount on this new edition).

Before I start...I'd love you to sign up to my newsletter, so I can keep in touch and tell you about future games. 

Here's what's happening with shipping Cosmic Dark.

If you're outside the US and your card payment went through first time, your books have been sent.

If there's a problem with your delivery, I don't have a way of contacting individual shipping companies, so I'll usually suggest waiting. If you need me, I'll respond quicker to emails (graham at thievesoftime) than Kickstarter comments.

If you're outside the US and your card payment didn't go through first time but it's gone through now, your books will be sent in the second batch next week.

If you're in the US, your books are on a ship, which I'm told arrives in Los Angeles shortly. (I'd previously been told the books had arrived, but apparently they're still on their way). When they arrive, they'll go through Customs. I don't know what'll happen with tariffs and so on: I'm not expecting major problems but I'll keep you updated.

There are still things I need to deliver electronically: the stretch goal scenarios; the "Beyond Reach" pack of scenarios; and Invasive. That's all written - and I do have a couple of surprise new authors! - and I just need to edit it.

Hi all,

Here's a mini-update to let you know what's happening.

For people outside the United States, rewards started shipping before Christmas. The distributor is starting to post the remaining parcels now, so if you haven't had your reward yet, it should come shortly. 

For people in the United States, your books are on the way to the US distributor, who'll send them out from there. I'll let you know when they arrive.

I took a break over Christmas and I'm getting back to it now! I'll finish off the remaining stretch goals and add-ons shortly.

Cosmic Dark is printed

Cosmic Dark is back from the printer, along with Cthulhu Dark, Stealing Cthulhu and all the printed rewards!

If you're outside the United States, your books and other rewards are with the distributor. They'll package them up and send them out shortly.

If you're in the United States, your books are shipping to the distributor in Nevada, who'll pack them and ship them when they arrive. That'll take a bit more time: we're doing it that way to keep shipping charges down.

You'll get one last charge on your card before the books ship out. You might remember - when we did the Kickstarter - that I did it that way because shipping to the States was uncertain.

And I'll finish up the stretch goals - including the "Beyond Reach" add-on - over the next few weeks.

It's nearly done! You did this really, not me, so thanks so much for helping me publish Cosmic Dark.
